CRAB OUTTA LUCK
When Bette Whaley stumbles on the body of an old family rival, she knows she’s in a pot of boiling water. It doesn’t help that she threatened the man in front of everyone in the small town of Chesapeake Cove. So when he’s found dead near the historic beach house Bette inherited from her grandmother, Bette’s the main suspect.
Bette’s one crab short in her alibi bucket, and even her childhood friend—Detective Marcus Seabolt—seems skeptical. But Bette isn’t the only one in Chesapeake Cove that had a problem with the cantankerous crab fisherman. To clear her name, Bette’s going to need all the help she can get.
With her son’s moody cat and her determined aunt Priscilla on her side, she’s prepared to set any trap to catch the real murderer. Bette needs to prove her innocence to Chesapeake Cove because she’s got nowhere else to go and her ex-husband is looking for any reason to get his claws on her inheritance.
ANCHOR MANAGEMENT
When the oldest son of Chesapeake Cove’s mayor is found dead behind The Steaming Bean, suspicions flood the streets. What’s worse is he’s got the stolen Anchor Award, the same one Cherry, owner of The Steaming Bean cafe, had confronted the mayor’s wife about the night before. When the mayor’s wife, Charlotte, points her finger at Cherry, the rumors begin to swell. Bette won’t abandon Cherry, and, even more, she knows that the mayor’s wife has a grudge against her friend and would love to see the young woman gone.
Cherry’s cafe is dead in the water, and unless Bette can discover who really killed the mayor’s son, her friend will be forced to leave the town she’s fallen in love with. To clear Cherry’s name, Bette is going to need all the help she can get. With her son, Vance, in town, a gorgeous stray Chesapeake Bay Retriever she’s calling Buster Crab under her care, and her aunt Pricilla on her side, Bette’s ready to fight the tide and catch the murderer.
Things get even more tangled when Steven, the victim’s younger brother, confesses to the murder. Bette’s convinced Steven’s lying, but she can’t figure out who he’s trying to protect. They’re desperate to save The Steaming Bean, but will Bette discover the truth before the tide and time wash away the evidence?
MUDDY WATERS
When reclusive artist Julie Hartfield is found strangled in her boat, Bette is on the case. Chesapeake Cove is packed with tourists excited for the Crab Festival, and finding the murderer will be like searching for lobster in a crab trap. When another victim is found a day later, there seems to be a human shark hidden in the Cove, picking off vulnerable prey.
The victims are connected, Bette’s sure of it, even if she can't figure out how. One woman lived in Chesapeake Cove, the other was visiting for the first time. Then a stranger, discovered in Julie's home, is hiding a dark secret and Detective Marcus is racing to capture the murderer before they strike again. With the Crab Festival looming on the horizon, Bette needs all the help she can get.
She gives safe harbor to a young man in need, and with his help, she's prepared to uncover secrets that could span the globe. But Bette might be heading towards international waters and be in over her head as secrets begin to unfold around her. She can only hope that Detective Marcus can keep her out of hot water long enough to capture a murderer.
